πŸ“š My Favourite Reads from April & May

Hey you! It’s Nebu here 🌸

April and May have turned out to be my favorite months for reading! I was stuck in a rough book slump for a while and just couldn’t get into anything. But I finally jumped back into reading by picking up some titles from my TBR (to-be-read) list. Honestly, I came across some amazing books, although there were a few that didn’t quite click for me. I’d love to share a little glimpse into the stories I’ve enjoyed and loved these past two months:

✨ 1. The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

  • Quick Summary: Clementine finds out she’s inherited her late aunt’s cool apartment, packed with quirky dΓ©cor and mysterious objects. This magical place lets her travel seven years into the past or future with ease. As she explores, she runs into a charming guy who has an interesting connection to her current life and his past seven years back, kicking off an unforgettable adventure filled with surprises and fun!

  • What I Loved: I absolutely loved the writing style! I couldn't put the book down! The premise was super interesting and fun. The characters were fantastic, especially the chemistry between Clementine and Iwan—they really drew me in. It was also so touching to see how much someone can change in seven years. I appreciated how the story explored Clementine's relationship with her aunt and how she was coping with that loss. Overall, it was such a great read!

  • Favorite Quote: “That was love, wasn't it? It wasn't just a quick drop--it was falling, over and over again, for your person. It was falling as they became new people. It was learning how to exist with every new breath. It was uncertain and it was undeniably hard, and it wasn't something you could plan for. Love was an invitation into the wild unknown, one step at a time together.”

  • Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Final Thoughts: This book totally pulled me out of my reading slump, and I’m really thankful for that. It felt like I picked the perfect book at the perfect time. I can’t wait to check out more from this author! 😍

✨ 2. Fearless by Lauren Roberts

  • Quick Summary: In the exciting third book of the Powerless trilogy, we pick up right where the last one left off! Paedyn finds herself in a tough spot as she tries to balance the future of Ilya with her strong feelings for her Kai Azer. It’s a heartfelt journey full of tough choices and emotions!

  • What I Loved: Lauren Roberts writes in such a poetic way that it makes me want to pull out all my annotation tools and highlight everything to revisit later. I was totally expecting a war after what went down in the second book with Ilya, but I got something totally unexpected that turned out to be awesome. Kai is being his usual charming self, and the way he talks about Paedyn just makes me smile. Paedyn came back even stronger this time. She's got a heart of steel, and you can totally see it in every chapter. But whenever Kai's around, you can tell she softens up. They've got such amazing chemistry! The last few chapters had some surprises I didn't see coming, but I enjoyed them anyway. And the epilogue? It totally stole my heart!

  • Favorite Quote: "I realize how happily I'd live the rest of my life at the end of a blade. So long as she is the one holding it."

  • Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Final Thoughts: If you're looking to dive into a fantastic romantasy trilogy, this is the one for you! You'll absolutely love Kai Azer and Paedyn Gray!πŸ«‚

✨ 3. Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry

  • Quick Summary: Alice is super excited to have the opportunity to write about the amazing celebrity, Margaret Ives! But she’s not alone—Pulitzer prize winner Hayden is also eager to share Margaret’s story. They both sign a non-disclosure agreement with Margaret and have their own separate meetings with her, but as they navigate this experience, something wonderful happens: Alice and Hayden begin to fall in love!

  • What I Loved: I've always been a fan of Emily Henry's writing and stories. This one dives into a different character's journey, and honestly, I think it would have been awesome if Margaret's story was in first-person POV. I’m a sucker for flashback scenes, and this book has plenty! The plot twist at the end totally caught me off guard! I really enjoyed Hayden and Alice's romance, too. In her books, romance is more like a side plot, but it always hits the mark.

  • Favorite Quote: "There's an old saying about stories, and how there are always three versions of them: yours, mine and the truth."

  • Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Final Thoughts: I’d totally read anything Emily Henry puts out! 😀

πŸ’ Reflections

April and May really helped me break free from my book slump! They introduced me to some amazing reads and even led me to my new favorite author. These months have been all about enjoying reading for the sheer pleasure of it, letting me take my time and savor each story instead of worrying about finishing 10 books a month. ❤️

πŸ“– What’s Next?

I'm excited to dive into the other books on my TBR list soon! Lately, I've been in the mood for a really sweet romance novel.

Thanks for hanging out with me here πŸ’—
